Ο φοιτητής/τρια θα ασχοληθεί στα πλαίσια της ΕΕ3 με την εξασφάλιση της καθημερινής επιτυχούς λειτουργίας του οργάνου(SAXS) μέσω μετρήσεων σε εσωτερικό επίπεδο και με την ενσωμάτωσή του σε υπάρχουσες εθνικές και διεθνείς μεγάλες υποδομές και στα πλαίσια της ΕΕ4 θα συμμετάσχει σε ενέργειες διαφήμισης του οργάνου και των δυνατοτήτων του μέσω συμμετοχής σε συνέδρια και οργάνωσης ημερίδας/συνεδρίου

Required Qualifications

• Πτυχίο φυσικών επιστημών (φυσική, χημεία, επιστήμης υλικών) ή μηχανικού  
• Προηγούμενη εμπειρία με την χρησιμοποίηση τεχνικών Ακτίνων Χ για την μελέτη υλικών με έμφαση σε πολυμερή και πολυμερικά νανοσύνθετα υλικά
• Προηγούμενη εμπειρία σε μελέτη και χαρακτηρισμό πολυμερών και υβριδικών συστημάτων και γνώση σχετικών πειραματικών τεχνικών με έμφαση στην μελέτη επιφανειακών ιδιοτήτων
• Άριστη γνώση της αγγλικής γλώσσας

Position Description

The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH-IESL in the context of PERCEIVE project and will work on software applications used for the automatization of data analysis and data visualization for imaging and spectroscopic techniques providing information on the nature and light-induced change of photosensitive materials on colour artworks. The researcher will be, however, involved in the overall research activities of PERCEIVE Project, aiming at improving the perception, preservation, curation, exhibition, understanding and access of coloured Cultural Heritage Collections and developing a reliable way to Study, Reconstruct, Render, Remap, Exhibit and Re-appropriate them.

• M.Sc. (or higher) in Physical Sciences or Computer Science, with a focus on material science, imaging, and optics 
• Proven skills in experimental setup, application of imaging / spectroscopic techniques, data acquisition and data analysis 
• Significant experience with cultural heritage studies (object analysis, campaigns)

The postdoctoral researcher will work in the framework of WorkPackage 2 in defining the specifications of the materials that will be utilized in the WISE solution and the development of biocompatible nanocoating surfaces and in the framework of WorkPackage 3 with the Knowledge Base design and implementation by assisting in process and product ontologies. 

Required Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Sciences or Engineering (physics, chemistry, materials science, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering) 
• MSc degree in Sciences or Engineering 
• PhD related with Polymer Science   
• Previous working experience in the investigation of polymer properties and knowledge of relevant characterization methods and techniques. 
• Development of polymer nanocomposites. 
• Excellent knowledge of English language
