Ms. Velli Maria-Christina
Ph.D. student

Maria-Christina Velli is a PhD candidate at the Department of Physics, University of Crete, Greece. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Physics and Master’s Degree in “Advanced Physics”, from University of Crete, Greece, in 2016 and 2018 respectively, with her graduate thesis being in Astrophysics. In 2019, she joined the “Ultrafast Laser Micro and Nano Processing” Group of the IESL, FORTH. Her current research includes the development of machine learning algorithms and how they can be used to optimize the time consuming and costly nature of experiments and simulations, in ultrafast laser materials processing.
