Position Description
Ο/η υποψήφιος/α διδάκτορας θα απασχοληθεί στην ΕΕ 3 του προγράμματος (Ανάπτυξη και βασικός χαρακτηρισμός μεμβρανών συσκευασίας τροφίμων με φυσικά συντηρητικά ως πρόσθετα) και το αντικείμενο της εργασίας του/της θα είναι ο χαρακτηρισμός και η χωρική ανάλυση μεμβρανών συσκευασίας τροφίμων με χρήση ηλεκτρονικής μικροσκοπίας σάρωσης/διέλευσης και μικροσκοπία φθορισμού.

Required Qualifications
- Πτυχίο Χημείας, Βιολογίας, Γεωπονίας ή Επιστήμης Υλικών
- Μεταπτυχιακός τίτλος σπουδών τμ. Χημείας, Βιολογίας, Γεωπονίας ή Επιστήμης Υλικών
- Εμπειρία στην ανάλυση και ασφάλεια τροφίμων
- Εμπειρία στο χαρακτηρισμό υλικών ή/και τροφίμων με χρήση ηλεκτρονικής μικροσκοπίας, μικροσκοπίας φθορισμού
Desirable Qualifications
- Γνώση Αγγλικής γλώσσας

Melanthia Kafantari is currently a Master of Science candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the Laboratory of Biomaterials for Tissue Engineering at the Department of Materials Science and Technology of the University of Crete and a member of the Hybrid Nanostructures Group of the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser, Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas.
She received her Bachelor’s Degree from the Department of Chemical Engineering, Aristotle University of Thessaloniki in 2015.

Position Description
Position 1
Micro-photoluminescence and time decay measurements in semiconductor nanostructures.
he candidate will apply micro-photoluminescence, time-resolved photoluminescence and photon-correlation spectroscopy techniques on various types of semiconductor nanostructures such as quantum dots and nanowires.
Position 2
GaN polariton structures and their use as sources of entangled photons.
The candidate will design, fabricate and characterize GaN polariton structures in view of detecting entangled photon pairs produced by parametric scattering of polaritons. The main techniques that will be used are photo-electrochemical etching, micro-photoluminescence, micro-reflectivity and angle-resolved photoluminescence.
