Job Description

The Research Assistant will participate in the clean room fabrication of the RF devices for the needs of the project and mainly of the RF MEMS switches.

• MSc related to nanotechnologies  
• At least 3 years of experience in cleanroom environment

Position Description

The Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser of the Foundation for research and Technology Hellas (IESL -FORTH), in the framework of the project PHOTOENERGY  is seeking to recruit one lab technician Position Description.
The technician is expected to join the proteomic facility of IMBB (ProFI) and perform statistical/bioinformatic analysis of the Mass Spectrometry (MS) pipeline established to characterize the proteome of diatoms and how this is affected depending on growth conditions at different light wavelengths and intensities. The technician will also participate in cultivation of diatoms and protein analysis by SDS-PAGE electrophoresis

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor degree (B. Sc) in biochemistry preferably but also chemistry or biology
• MS.c. degree in biological or physicochemical sciences
• Ph.D. dissertation related to protein biochemistry and/or mass spectrometry
• Experimental laboratory experience in protein expression and purification and MS characterization of proteins
• Knowledge of English language

Desirable Qualifications

• Experience in MS Data analysis and in using sample preparation methodologies for proteomics analysis

Job Description

We are looking for 1 research engineer to work on the processing and characterization of polymeric pyroelectric materials. The work to be carried out is part of an EU-funded project and besides experimental work the selected engineer will be responsible for administrative work such as reporting and deliverable writing.

Required Qualifications

• BSc in Materials Science and Engineering, or Physics or Chemistry. 
• MSc in Materials Science and Engineering, or Physics or Chemistry. 
• Prior laboratory experience in polymer science. 
• Prior knowledge and hands-on experience of basic materials characterization technics.

The candidate will participate in the R&D activities of FORTH-IESL in the context of PERCEIVE project and will work on software applications used for the automatization of data analysis and data visualization for imaging and spectroscopic techniques providing information on the nature and light-induced change of photosensitive materials on colour artworks. The researcher will be, however, involved in the overall research activities of PERCEIVE Project, aiming at improving the perception, preservation, curation, exhibition, understanding and access of coloured Cultural Heritage Collections and developing a reliable way to Study, Reconstruct, Render, Remap, Exhibit and Re-appropriate them.

• Proven skills in experimental setup, application of imaging / spectroscopic techniques, data acquisition and data analysis
