Victor Pinon received his Doctorate degree from the Department of Industrial Engineering II (University of A Coruña, Spain 2011). During his PhD, he explored several approaches to improve the analytical capabilities of the Laser-Induced Breakdown Spectroscopy technique including the use of femtosecond lasers and double pulse configurations. In 2014 he joined Applied Photonics Ltd in the UK as a Senior Applications Scientist. Among other tasks, he was involved in the design, manufacture, and commissioning of several laser systems that were used in nuclear facilities. In 2021 he joined IESL-FORTH as a research assistant.
