The Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL) of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH), in the framework of the project GIOTTO, (Call: H2020-NMBP-TR-IND-2018, Proposal number: 814410) funded under H2020-EU.2.1.3., H2020-EU.2.1.2., is seeking to recruit one (1) post-doctoral researcher. We are looking for a highly motivated post-doctoral researcher to be part of an EC Horizon 2020 collaborative research project that will develop novel medical devices for osteoporosis. The researcher will join an international multi- and interdisciplinary team and will work on the in vitro biological evaluation of materials and medical devices for bone regeneration. The ideal candidate will participate in validating the potential of medical devices to promote osteogenic or osteoclastogenic differentiation of established cell types in 3D mono- and co-cultures under dynamic conditions.

Required Qualifications
• PhD in Biology (preferably) or related natural science and engineering (e.g. biomaterials science, biochemistry) (25%)

Required Qualifications
• College degree with a PhD in natural sciences and engineering sciences (Physics, Physical technology, etc.) (20%)
• Extensive experience in the synthesis and the application of photopolymers, preferably in the field of multiphoton polymerization (40%)
• Extensive experience in the subject area of laser patterning in research or industry (20%)
• Very good knowledge of English, spoken and written (20%)

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation – FORTH fellows are expected to perform high quality research within one of the research areas, in which FORTH-IESL excels both on the national and the international level (http://www.iesl.forth.gr/). More specifically, the domains of interest in the present project are the preservation of cultural heritage and the science and innovation in the areas of environment, clean energy and health.

Eligibility criteria
• PhD degree in Physical Sciences or Engineering
• Good knowledge of Greek and English language
Evaluation Criteria
• Publications in high impact peer-review journals
• Participation in national and international conferences
• Quality of the proposed post-doctoral project
• Ability and motivation to perform independent research
• Previous post-doctoral research experience
• According to international practice, the academic age (number of years after the Ph.D. degree award year) will be taken into consideration as a selection criterion; preference will be given to Post-Doctoral researchers with an academic age less or equal to 10 years.

Position Description
We are seeking experimental physicists to work on 2D material CVD, material transfer and characterization. The ideal candidate will participate in optimizing processing flows for 2D material based electronics and in characterization experiments. Suitable candidates should have demonstrated experience in Chemical vapor deposition and ideally sputtering techniques. Knowledge of 2D material and metal oxide physics and material growth will be considered an advantage.

Position Description
We are seeking experimental physicists to work on CNT and 2D material device fabrication and characterization. The ideal candidate will participate in optimizing processing flows for CNT and 2D material based electronics and in characterization experiments, including experiments and device fabrication of devices for RF-applications. Suitable candidates should have demonstrated experience in cleanroom fabrication techniques (e-beam lithography, metal deposition etc.) and in magnetotransport experiments and cryogenic instrumentation. Experience in CVD growth of sulfide based TMDC and graphene will also be strongly appreciated.

The candidate is expected to participate in and contribute to a major activity of the project focusing on the development, optimization and evaluation of laser spectroscopic methodologies and prototypes for on-site measurements of greenhouse gas emissions in the agricultural sector. Researchers with demonstrated hands-on experience in setting up laser spectroscopy applications with the use of IR laser sources, optics and detectors will be taken into consideration.
Required Qualifications
• PhD in Physical Sciences (10%)
• Extensive knowledge on lasers, spectroscopy, optical experimental apparatus and instrumentation relevant to analytical/ diagnostic applications (30%)
• Strong experience in the development of instrumentation for remote sensing and in-situ measurements (30%)
