Wolf von Klitzing is the leader of the BEC and Matter Waves group (link to external pages [2], link to IESL page [3]), which works on Bose Einstein Condensation and matter-wave interferometry.  They achieved BEC on Friday the 13th of August 2010. 

Before starting the Cretan Matter-Waves group he worked at the Laboratoire Kastler Brossel [4] (LKB) of the Ecole Normale Superieure [5] (ENS) in Paris, La Sapienzia in Rome [6], and AMOLF [7].
