Position Description
The Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser of the Foundation for research and Technology Hellas (IESL -FORTH), invites applications for one PhD student position within the framework of the research project Bor2D-TECH, funded under the FORTH Synergy Grants. We are seeking for one (1) PhD Candidate, graduate of the Department of Engineering, Physics or Materials Science, specialist in nanomaterials and nanocomposites, with applications of metamaterials and related devices, to perform his/hers doctoral studies at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL), of the Foundation for Research and Technology – Hellas (FORTH), https://www.iesl.forth.gr/ [4].
Required Qualifications
- BsC in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science
- Enrolled in a PhD program in Engineering, Physics or Materials Science
- Research experience in the synthesis of polymeric nanocomposite samples using 3D printing techniques and the study of their physicochemical and mechanical properties
- Research experience related to electromagnetic characterization of materials in the microwave range
Desirable Qualifications
- Scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, related to the synthesis and characterization of polymeric nanocomposite samples from FDM 3D printing techniques
- Scientific publications in international peer-reviewed journals, related to the fabrication and characterization of sensors and metamaterial devices
