Microscopic response and nonlinear rheology of sheared colloidal yield stress systems by combined Microscopy/scattering and rheometry. Experiments with light scattering echo and dynamic differential microscopy of dense colloidal suspensions (such as colloidal glasses of soft and hard particles, colloidal gels and attractive glasses) under large amplitude oscillatory shear. Advanced analysis to follow and link microscopic particle rearrangements, shear induced diffusion and structural changes with the rheological response such as yielding (solid to liquid transition) or shear thickening.
