Aggelos Philippidis received his Doctorate degree from Chemistry Department of the University of Crete, Greece, in 2009. His thesis was on the study of molecular compounds metal-chalcogenides: Synthesis, Characterization and study of their solution chemistry. He received his master degree from the same department, in 2003. The object was the geographical and botanic classification of Greek virgin olive oil by NMR spectroscopy and chemometrics. He received his B.Sc. degree from the same department, in 2001. He is currently performing his post doctoral studies at the Institute of Electronic Structure and Laser (IESL) Foundation of Research and Technology (FORTH) Crete, Greece. His research interests include the characterization of archaeological heritage samples and also organic nanoparticles by the use of Raman spectroscopy and NMR. He has published 11 articles in international refereed journals. He is familiar to a lot of techniques as Raman, FT-IR, NMR, XRD, UV-Vis, Fluoroscence, ESI-MS and SEM-EDS.
