RESPICESME LAUNCHES VIDEO PITCH CONTEST

RespiceSME offers you the opportunity to present your innovative business idea in a ‘video elevator pitch’ to the European photonics community

Are you a Start-up or a Small & Medium-sized Enterprise (SME) with a great idea or a product with high potential for exploitation and commercialisation?

Then present your idea or product in a short video of less than 5 minutes, upload it on YouTube (or any other video platform) and send the link to videocontest@respice-sme.eu by latest 31st October 2017.

RespiceSME will promote your video on its website and among its networks of European photonics companies, clusters and research institutions. A jury of photonics business experts will select the 3 most convincing videos based on the uniqueness of the idea they present, the added-value for dedicated business cases thus far and the potential for further exploitation

The creative mind(s) behind the winning video will have the chance to work with a marketing agency to make a professionally edited video, to be used for promoting their innovative products to investors, business partners and customers. On top, the winning contestant(s) will get a free training on business development and innovation management, funded fully by the RespiceSME project.

Special Issue "Novel Optical Fibers, Devices and Applications" in Materials Open Access Journal (MDPI)

Optical fiber technology has achieved major advances in the last few decades, and has revolutionized key application fields, including those of communications, sensing, and lighting. To a large extent, the progress can be attributed to the continuous research efforts and resulting accomplishments for the realization of improved, new, optical fibers. Starting with the endeavor, in the early days, to fabricate fibers with good guiding characteristics, and continuing with the abiding interest in the design and fabrication of specialty fibers targeting specific applications, new fibers are at the forefront of emerging innovations. The aim of this Special Issue is to feature recent advances in the field of novel fibers, their devices and applications, in terms of, but not limited to, fiber material and properties, design and fabrication, light localization structures, fiber surface functionalization through sensitive materials and transducing techniques, and components and sensing systems.
