REF. 637

The Institute of Electronic Structure and LASER (IESL) of the Foundation for Research and Technology Hellas (FORTH), in the frame of the project «SophoX» which is an “ARISTEIA” Action which is part of the action "Education and Lifelong Learning", which is part of the action "Education and Lifelong Learning" and is co‐financed by the European Union (the European Social Fund) and national funds, is seeking for two (2) Post-doctoral Researchers.

Abstract

ARISTEIES

Description

Position 1: Study of phonon propagation in periodic soft matter structures

Study of phonon propagation in periodic structures combining state of the art light scattering Brillouin Light Scattering (BLS) at the Institute Max Planck Institute (Mainz, Germany) and study acousto-optic coupling in the visible (phoXonics). The project might imply collaboration with the theoretical group in France.

Position 2:  Nanoscale Phononics: Engineering band structure, acousto-optical interactions, heat management based on soft matter.

The necessary integrated approach for the study of phonon propagation in periodic structures will combine state-of-art experimental light scattering experiments. The project will combine use of synthetic and biological soft matter systems.
