The group studies a broad range of astrophysical phenomena analyzing observations from ground based and space-born facilities as well as developing new theoretical methods for the interpretation of these observations. The research interests of the members include the astrophysics of compact objects (stellar and supermassive black holes, neutron stars and white dwarfs) and their interaction with the environment, star formation and the interstellar medium, the properties and evolution of galaxies, super massive black holes and cosmology. In addition, the group operates and manages the Skinakas Observatory and is involved in instrumentation development for its telescopes. More information on the activities of the group can be found here.
