Joint ELI/X-HOMES workshop on:
“Science with novel, user oriented intense attosecond radiation sources”

In the framework of the Preparatory Phase of the “Extreme Light Infrastructure” project in conjunction with the Marie Curie Transfer of Knowledge program “XUV-High Order Harmonic Metrology Tools for Novel Spectroscopic Applications” (X-HOMES) we are organizing a one-day workshop on “Science with novel, user oriented intense attosecond radiation sources”. The workshop will be held on Saturday the 30 August, 2008 at FORTH-IESL and will cover topics related to potential applications of high peak power XUV/x-ray attosecond radiation sources and the development and characteristics of such sources within European Research Infrastructures. The program will partially cover the physics of attosecond radiation generation and interaction with matter, while special emphasis will be given in the requirements on the source parameters. Presentations at the workshop will be in part exploited in the parameter definition of future attosecond facilities, such as the attosecond physics secondary source of the ELI project.
