Physics (IESL)

Within the Physics discipline the students will be offered the possibility to study:

P.1)

Fundamentals of light propagation in cells and tissues (multiple scattering of incoherent light in turbid media, scattering of coherent light in complex systems, fundamentals of fluorescence and photo-bleaching).

P.2)

Laser Physics and CCD technology applied to microscopy acquisition of fluorescence lifetime, excitation and emission spectra, femtosecond pulse propagation. Imaging Non-linear phenomena in Fluorescent Proteins (second harmonic-generation, two-photon absorption). Development and design of imaging setups.

P.3)

3D in-vivo tomography of small animals, tissue characterization, 3D fluorescence imaging.
